Montreal’s PARADISE (14 October 2026)

“Wake me up / When construction ends..” sung to the tune of Green Day.

And if you don’t know who Green Day is, you are far too uncultured to be living in Montreal. Just move to Toronto. Thx.

This is the time of year when it seems like the construction goes into overdrive. They are trying to get every little last thing done before the first snowfall, I guess. But I’m so over it. I just want to walk down St. Catherine street and get bumped into by a matcha-crazed GenZer in peace. Sheesh.

And then all this construction is done all spring and summer but we will still have lethal potholes all winter. Make it make sense.

Anywhoo, wanna be like me and avoid the outside this week? Go do some fun stuff inside…

METATRON X METONYMY FUNDRAISER

Metatron’s first public fundraiser in more than a decade, in collaboration with Metonymy Press.

As English-language presses in Québec, they work with zero access to local and provincial funding, and support from the Canada Council for the Arts is tight and inconsistent. The fundraiser will help them  invest in promotion for their books and writers, and prepare for the next opening of the Literary Publishers program, which comes around only once every four years.

There’s even a dance party!

WHERE: Le Système, 7119 Rue St-Hubert, Montréal, QC H2S 2N1

WHEN: 18 October 3-9PM

METRO: Jean Talon (Blue/Orange)
