Yo, it went from bootie-short weather to hoodie weather in like two weeks!! Crazy. And yes, I will reserve the right to complain and rant about the weather week after week cuz the switch-up in Canada is trash. We had only 4 months of summer... And it BETTER NOT snow the first week of November like it did last year.. (as if i could actually do something about it LOL). Why do we have to be so far north? Can we get a world map re-do, as well? Just scooch Canada down there between Mexico & the US…nobody will notice THX.
And when I’m done being completely delusional, I like to dance, which at least for me, is part of this week’s theme. Oh wait real quick before we get to my picks..y’all ever try to get out of the Communauto and close the door before the end of the recorded message? IYKYK, but it's my own little game ... so yes I'm delusional and a weirdo.
Whatev. Get outside this week! Y’all do realize that y’all live in a city where there’s always something going on, right? (I mean not me cuz I don’t really live here…tee hee) Anyways, good. So we’re just trying to help you help yourself. You’re welcome.

SOIRÉE BACHATA AT M MONTREAL HOSTEL
I’m really trying to keep myself moving as much as possible and I think dance classes are the perfect way to do that. And I’m quite sure y’all can bring some dancing shoes in those tote bags y’all (and me!) carry around everywhere.
The night starts with a beginner-level class (Level 1) at 5:00 PM, followed by an intermediate-level class (Levels 2 & 3) at 6:00 PM. Afterward, stay for the open practice and social dance, where dancers of all levels are encouraged to connect, dance, and enjoy the music together.
This is a beginner-friendly environment — no partner needed, and everyone is welcome. The vibe is social, inclusive, and community-focused. Please respect boundaries and help create a space where everyone feels safe and supported. This is not a speed dating event.

Personally, street dance styles are the best dance styles…if you don’t know much about krump, this is your chance to see it in action…it’s a truly special and unique dance style that’s been around almost as long as breaking, popping & locking. Even if you can’t make this one, there are lots of other dance events you can check out during the Festival Quartier Danse.

AFRO-HOUSE DANCE PARTY
Afro-house is taking over the Place des Arts Esplanade under some of the genre’s biggest names, with none other than BadKass leading the house dance workshop, followed by singer-songwriter Aiza, and the Moonshine collective bringing the music. A subgenre of house music originating in South Africa in the late 1990s, Afro-house combines traditional African rhythms, electronic grooves, and percussive sound. This is all a part of the Tempeo Festival, so there’s other stuff on other days too.
Let this musical fusion work its magic on a night where Afro-house is sure to get your whole body all shook up. AND don’t be worrying about how you look…just DANCE.
