McSweeney’s List (30 July 2025)
The word taboo comes from the Polynesian “tapu”, meaning prohibited or forbidden. It also refers to menstruation, a reminder that within the arbitrary societal framework of the time, even the most natural things can be deemed unacceptable.
More Than a Festival
Imagine a Pride without any compromise. That’s what the organizers of Wild Pride have dreamed of, and that’s what is taking place starting July 30th. Moving away from the usual Pride commodification of queer pride and queer joy that view our communities as a market to take advantage of every year, Wild Pride is radical, anti-colonial, anti-capitalist, and anti-corporate.

McSweeney’s List (9 July 2025)
It's so hard to re-capture the freewheeling feelings of childhood summer. For one thing, the season would last forever; months off from school with no direction left us with enough time to explore all the options, and also get bored enough to envision new ones.
