Man, do I enjoy a good abstract, philosophical conversation. Just the other night I was genuinely discussing Plato's Symposium with friends over drinks and under stars. It was one of those moments that, as it was happening, my inside voice was bouncy and giddy as I thought to myself "Wow. This is one of those things I always wanted."

Facebook Memories are a mixed bag, to say the least. Sometimes it truly is a great memory of a party or trip, sometimes it’s a reminder that I used to think my status update had to be in the form of a sentence with my name included (“Jason C. McLean is enjoying lunch” and such…aaah 2008), while sometimes it’s a reminder of something I would just as soon forget.

Population II isn’t the easiest band to categorize, but that’s a big part of their appeal. In a world full of assembly line personalities and cookie-cutter pop music, it’s increasingly important to be reminded that true individuality is still out there.

It's funny the way we perceive ourselves as constants. When we think of ourselves as a whole, we tend to feel like we've always been the way we are. Now, I've read some interesting things lately on how half our brain is geared toward action, and half is in charge of making up the story of why we made the action, so this tracks.

Fun Fact: I once got fired from a job because I was on TV.

One festival, thirty reviews, six contributors, and one squeaky wheel. So ends my first St-Ambroise Montreal FRINGE Festival experience.

I spent more time on St-Laurent Boulevard, the Plateau part, in the past week than I have in the past decade (and change) since I moved from the area. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t skip the Plateau overall. There were quite a few evenings, and even some afternoons, during that time where I headed to the Mountain, went to a party on du Parc, went to a bar on Mont-Royal, and so on.
